After my 33 year executive career in Information Technology (IT), both in Aerospace and Banking, my wife and I made the move from Southern California to the beautiful Olympic Peninsula in 2002. We had actually become enamored with the area, and purchased our first home and land in the mid-90s. Our expectation of moving to the Northwest was accelerated by a corporate merger, and the opportunity that event produced. Virtually my entire career required, among numerous other things, an outstanding ability to negotiate multi-million dollar deals. My ability allowed me to save tens of millions of dollars on hardware, software, and services contracts for my employers. This ability served me well not only in the professional sense, but also in a personal one. My career afforded me the financial means, and my wife and I had the savvy, to successfully and profitably buy, trade, or sell a number of properties. People repeatedly suggested to me that when my IT career ended it would only be natural to take what had been an avocation in Real Estate, combine it with my negotiation skill, and turn it into a second career.
